Custom Built-In Entertainment Center with Fireplace in Tampa, Florida
This completed custom built-in entertainment center in Tampa, Florida combines traditional American millwork with the functionality of a modern media wall. The floor-to-ceiling installation brings together a mounted television, linear electric fireplace, open display shelving, concealed storage cabinets, architectural trim, and a continuous stained wood countertop.
The project was developed within our C-Series Cabinet & Shelf Systems and incorporates elements from both the Fireplace Media Wall with Storage and Signature Classic Built-In models.
Rather than using a freestanding TV console and separate shelving, the completed wall functions as one permanent architectural feature designed specifically for the room.
A Classic American Built-In with Modern Functionality
Classic built-in entertainment centers remain popular because their proportions and architectural details are not tied to a temporary design trend.
In this Tampa project, the television and fireplace establish the central axis. Matching shelving towers and lower cabinets frame that central section, creating a balanced composition across the entire wall.
Traditional details include:
Symmetrical open shelving
Shaker-style cabinet doors
Applied trim around the television
Decorative molding around the fireplace
Full-height side towers
Integrated crown molding
A continuous stained wood countertop
The modern linear electric fireplace and wall-mounted television update the composition for contemporary living while preserving the familiar character of a classic American built-in.
Integrated TV and Linear Electric Fireplace
The television was mounted in the center of the entertainment wall and framed with simple applied molding. This detail gives the screen a defined architectural position rather than allowing it to appear as a separate object attached to the wall.
A wide linear electric fireplace was integrated into the cabinet base below. The fireplace is surrounded by painted trim that connects visually with the cabinet doors and TV panel.
Aligning the television and fireplace on the same vertical axis creates a clear focal point and keeps the full installation visually organized.
Power, media connections, mounting support, and fireplace requirements were coordinated inside the built-in so that visible cables would not interrupt the finished composition.
Open Display Shelves and Concealed Storage
Tall shelving towers were constructed on both sides of the television. The open shelves provide generous space for books, framed photographs, artwork, plants, and decorative accessories.
Below the shelves, shaker-style cabinets provide concealed storage for media equipment and everyday living room items. This combination gives the homeowners flexible display space while helping the room remain organized.
The shelving towers extend to the ceiling and are finished with crown molding. Their full-height design makes the entertainment center feel integrated with the architecture of the home rather than installed as freestanding furniture.
Continuous Stained Wood Countertop
A custom stained wood countertop runs continuously across the lower cabinetry and fireplace section. It visually connects the left and right storage cabinets while creating a warm transition between the painted built-in and the light wood flooring.
The natural wood tone provides contrast against the white cabinetry and introduces texture without making the wall visually busy. Because the countertop continues through the center of the installation, every section reads as part of one unified entertainment system.
The countertop also creates practical display space beneath the shelving and around the central TV area.
Architectural Trim and Multiple Depth Levels
The character of this project comes from more than cabinets and shelves. Several carefully planned depth levels give the wall an architectural appearance.
The shelving towers project forward from the central TV section. The lower cabinetry establishes a substantial base, while the framed TV panel and fireplace surround add smaller layers of dimensional detail.
Crown molding completes the towers at the ceiling and connects the new installation with the existing trim throughout the home. Consistent reveals, aligned cabinet doors, clean corners, and precise molding transitions are especially important on a bright painted built-in, where imperfections remain easy to see.
Professional Painted Finish
The white painted finish keeps this large entertainment center visually light and allows it to blend naturally with the surrounding interior.
Achieving a clean built-in finish requires careful preparation. Joints, fastener locations, trim connections, and surface transitions must be filled, sanded, primed, and refined before the final coating is applied.
The result is a smooth, consistent surface that gives the installation the appearance of permanent custom millwork. Black cabinet pulls and the black fireplace frame provide controlled contrast against the light cabinetry.

Designed Specifically for the Room
Every part of this entertainment center was sized around the actual wall, ceiling height, adjacent openings, television dimensions, fireplace proportions, and available circulation space.
The project was planned to provide:
A centered television installation
An integrated linear electric fireplace
Closed storage on both sides
Full-height display shelving
A continuous wood surface
Concealed wiring and electrical connections
Clean transitions into the existing walls and ceiling
A balanced built-in appearance from multiple viewing angles
This room-specific approach allows a large built-in to add functionality without overwhelming the surrounding space.
Based on Two Customizable Media Wall Models
This project combines ideas from two established designs.
The Fireplace Media Wall with Storage provides the functional foundation: an integrated fireplace, lower cabinetry, storage, and a coordinated TV zone.
The Signature Classic Built-In contributes the traditional architectural language, including symmetrical shelving, panel molding, crown molding, and carefully balanced proportions.
Both concepts belong to our broader C-Series Cabinet & Shelf Systems, which includes entertainment walls that combine cabinetry, shelving, fireplaces, TV integration, and custom finish carpentry.
