Stone Fireplace Media Wall with Illuminated Niches in Tampa, Florida
This completed fireplace media wall project in Tampa, Florida transforms a large living-room wall into a fully integrated entertainment feature built around the TV, electric fireplace, natural-looking stone finish, illuminated display niches, and custom finish work.
The project combines ideas from our F-Series Fireplace Integrated Models, including elements found in the Stone Fireplace Media Wall and Modern Niche Media Wall.
Instead of treating the fireplace, television, windows, and decorative storage as separate elements, the entire wall was designed as one architectural composition.
A Full-Width Fireplace Feature Wall
One of the strongest features of this project is its scale.
The stone finish extends across almost the entire wall and continues around both existing windows. This approach integrates the windows into the architecture rather than leaving them visually disconnected from the entertainment center.
The central built-out section projects forward from the surrounding wall and creates a clear focal point for the room. It holds the large TV, soundbar, mantel, electric fireplace, and two vertical display niches.
The finished result functions as both a fireplace wall and a complete media wall.
Stone Finish Across the Entire Wall
The wall uses a dimensional stacked-stone finish with a mix of soft gray, beige, taupe, and natural mineral tones.
The varied stone pattern creates texture without making the room feel dark or heavy. Extending the finish around the windows also gives the installation a much stronger built-in appearance.
Stone and brick finishes are one of several architectural surfaces we use for fireplace walls and entertainment built-ins. You can see additional options on our Materials & Finishes page.
Integrated Electric Fireplace and Large TV
The central fireplace build-out was designed around a wide linear electric fireplace installed directly below the television.
A dark wood mantel separates the fireplace from the TV zone and adds horizontal contrast against the lighter stone.
The TV and soundbar were incorporated into the composition so the technology feels intentional rather than added after construction.
This type of integrated TV and fireplace configuration is the core idea behind our F-Series fireplace media walls.
Custom Illuminated Niches
Two vertical niches were built into the central section, one on each side of the television.
Each niche contains multiple display compartments finished with a warm wood interior and integrated LED lighting.
The lighting adds depth to the media wall during the evening and creates dedicated places for decorative objects without requiring separate furniture.
The warm wood tone also balances the cooler stone finish and the black TV and fireplace surfaces.
Built-Out Construction and Architectural Integration
This project required much more than applying decorative stone to an existing wall.
The central section was framed and built out to create the depth needed for the fireplace, television, mantel, wiring, niches, and lighting.
The stone layout was then continued across the surrounding wall and carefully fitted around both window openings.
This type of work requires coordination between framing, finish carpentry, electrical preparation, stone installation, lighting, TV mounting, and final detailing.
The goal is for the finished entertainment wall to look like part of the original architecture of the home.
A Fireplace Media Wall Designed for the Tampa Home
Projects like this work especially well in Florida homes where a traditional masonry fireplace is not necessary, but homeowners still want the visual anchor of a fireplace feature wall.
A linear electric fireplace provides the architectural effect while allowing much greater flexibility in the size, height, depth, and overall design of the built-out.
We design and build custom media walls throughout Florida, including Tampa Bay and surrounding communities.
From Pre-Designed Model to Custom Installation
Many of our custom projects begin with one of our existing models and are then adjusted to the dimensions, finishes, TV size, fireplace size, storage requirements, and architecture of the room.
This Tampa project combines characteristics of both our stone fireplace wall concepts and niche-based entertainment centers.
