White Stone Fireplace Media Wall
This completed fireplace media wall project in Punta Gorda, Florida transforms a plain living room wall into a strong architectural focal point. The floor-to-ceiling built-out combines a wide electric fireplace with a textured white stone finish and a framed artwork display above it.
The project was developed as a customized interpretation of our Stone Fireplace Media Wall, part of the F-Series Fireplace Integrated Models. Instead of placing a television above the fireplace, the homeowner chose a framed coastal artwork that complements the light Florida interior and creates a softer, residential composition.
A Floor-to-Ceiling Fireplace Wall Designed for the Room
The new fireplace feature extends from the floor to the ceiling, giving the wall greater visual height and architectural presence. Its proportions were adjusted to fit the room without making the interior feel crowded or overly heavy.
A full-height built-out also helped establish a clear focal point within the open living and dining area. From different positions in the room, the fireplace wall remains visible and visually balanced.
The side returns were finished with the same stone treatment, so the project looks like a complete architectural structure rather than a decorative material applied only to the front surface.
Textured White Stone Finish
The defining feature of this Punta Gorda fireplace wall is the irregular white stone veneer. The varied stone sizes, rough texture, recessed joints, and soft tonal changes give the surface depth while preserving a bright coastal appearance.
The white finish works well with the room’s neutral walls, light flooring, traditional furnishings, and waterfront-inspired artwork. Natural daylight emphasizes the texture during the day, while the electric fireplace creates a warmer visual effect in the evening.
This type of stone fireplace wall works well in Florida interiors because it brings material character into the room without introducing dark or visually heavy finishes.
Integrated Linear Electric Fireplace
A wide electric fireplace was installed directly into the lower portion of the built-out. Its black glass frame creates a strong horizontal contrast against the white stone and visually anchors the entire composition.
The fireplace is positioned close to the floor, which allows enough space above for a large television, framed artwork, mirror, or another decorative centerpiece. In this project, the homeowner selected a framed marina scene that reinforces the light coastal atmosphere of the room.
The integrated fireplace provides a clean appearance without a separate hearth, freestanding unit, exposed framing, or visible transition between the fireplace and the surrounding finish.
Artwork Instead of a Television
Although many of our fireplace media wall projects include a mounted TV, this project shows how the same architectural concept can support artwork instead.
The framed coastal painting was carefully centered above the fireplace and scaled to the width of the built-out. The resulting composition feels closer to a traditional fireplace feature while retaining the clean lines of a modern electric fireplace installation.
The wall remains TV-ready in concept, but its current arrangement creates a quieter and more decorative living room focal point.
Clean Custom Built-Out Construction
A successful stone fireplace wall depends on the construction beneath the visible finish. The wall must be properly framed, leveled, proportioned, and prepared for the selected electric fireplace and final facing material.
For this project, the built-out was planned around:
The dimensions of the room
The selected electric fireplace
The size and placement of the artwork
The floor-to-ceiling stone layout
The depth of the finished side returns
The viewing angles from the living and dining areas
Careful preparation allowed the stone courses to continue around the sides and terminate cleanly at the ceiling, floor, and adjacent painted walls.
A Fireplace Feature for a Coastal Florida Interior
The completed wall fits naturally into this Punta Gorda home. Its white stone surface reflects the brightness of the surrounding interior, while the rough texture adds enough contrast to prevent the room from feeling flat.
The combination of white stone, a black electric fireplace, coastal artwork, pale flooring, and soft furnishings creates a relaxed transition between traditional and contemporary design.
This project demonstrates that a fireplace media wall does not need cabinets, shelving, trim, or several materials to make a strong visual impact. A focused material palette and carefully controlled proportions often produce the cleanest result.
Part of Our F-Series Fireplace Wall Collection
This project is based on the Stone Fireplace Media Wall, one of the fireplace-centered concepts within our F-Series Fireplace Integrated Models.
Each F-Series project starts with a developed design direction and is then adapted to the actual wall dimensions, ceiling height, fireplace selection, room layout, and preferred finish. Homeowners can modify the stone color, fireplace dimensions, wall depth, TV or artwork position, mantel configuration, lighting, and surrounding architectural details.
